The Process
Four Steps to Your Doctorate
Check Your Eligibility
Review the entry requirements for your chosen programme. Most Brenkley Doctoral College doctoral programmes require a Master's degree at Merit or Distinction level, significant professional experience, and a preliminary research idea. Some entry points are available for exceptional candidates without a Master's via our Access to Doctorate pathway.
- Master's degree at Merit or above (or equivalent)
- Minimum five years of relevant professional experience
- Outline research idea or area of interest
- English language proficiency (if applicable)
Prepare Your Application
Your application consists of several components that allow us to assess your academic readiness, professional background, and research potential. Take time to prepare these materials thoughtfully — they form the basis of your interview discussion.
- Personal statement (800–1,000 words)
- Research proposal outline (1,500–2,000 words)
- CV including professional and academic history
- Two academic or professional references
